Chalet Marcel is a beautiful chalet tucked away in the charming village of Saint Marcel. Located opposite the world-renowned restaurant La Bouitte, the chalet offers a luxurious retreat in the Alps. The authentic resort of St Martin de Belleville is a few minutes’ drive away, and from where you can easily access the ski slopes of the vast 3 Valleys ski area.
The chalet is spread across four floors and can accommodate up to 12 guests in five bedrooms. The exterior of timber and stone is typical of the valley, whilst inside traditional materials are blended with contemporary design and modern amenities. Add in private spa facilities and views across the valley and you have one of the finest luxury ski chalets in the area.
The open plan living spaces are arranged across the second floor. The lounge area sits beneath a high ceiling and features large sofas set around a coffee table and facing onto the fireplace and flat screen TV. Next to this seating is an additional sofa snug area where you can curl up with a book and gaze out onto the mountains. Sliding doors open onto a wide balcony with views over the village and mountains.
Behind the lounge is the dining area where you can enjoy your home cooked meals. The open kitchen is adjacent to the dining table and adds to the convivial nature of the communal living spaces.
The entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor where you arrive at a large lobby with access to both stairs and an elevator. To the left, a glass wall lets you peer into your private wellness area where you have an indoor swimming pool and lounging area. After a dip in the pool, you can enjoy a refreshing shower or the warmth of the sauna or steam room. Along from the spa is a dedicated cinema room with tiered seating for immersive movie nights in.
When it comes to the sleeping quarters, the bedrooms are split between the first and top floors. On the first floor, the master double bedroom is bright and features a semi open bathroom as well as terrace access where you will discover the outdoor Nordic hot tub. There are two further double bedrooms on this floor, one with en-suite shower room, the other an en-suite shower and separate toilet.
On the top floor are two charming bedrooms with high ceilings set beneath the beautiful, vaulted timber roof. There is a further double room with a balcony and en-suite shower, as well as a children’s bunk room sleeping four, again with an en-suite shower. These two bedrooms share a separate toilet.
The chalet is a few minutes’ drive from St Martin de Belleville. From the centre of St Martin, the gondola will whisk you quickly up onto the ski slopes. You can then take a chairlift and head over to Meribel or stay in the valley and ski down to Les Menuires and onward to Val Thorens.
Next to the gondola are also the ski school meeting points and there is a dedicated nursery slope for beginners to practice their first turns. A few minutes’ walk from the gondola is the centre of the old St Martin de Belleville village with its typical Tarentaise church with Baroque interior. There is a wide selection of restaurants, along with local shops and bars, plus an aquatic and wellness centre.
For those driving to the chalet, there is a car parking space available. There is also a ski bus stop within 300m of the chalet.
