Soldeu-El Tarter Luxury Ski Chalets

The resorts of Soldeu and El Tarter sits at the centre of the Grandvalira ski area, the largest linked ski area in the Pyrenees. Created in 2003, the skiing offers seven different sectors with a single lift pass offering 215km of pistes and 142 slopes for all levels. The ski area is serviced by 74 lifts with 66% of the ski domain also covered by snow canons.

The Soldeu sector has wide slopes and steep descents, making it ideal for groups who want to progress their skiing or enjoy the mountain to the max. Soldeu has a gondola straight from the village to an altitude of 2,250m where a choice of red runs connect you into the wider ski area. The Yôkai children’s circuit, a themed fun area featuring obstacles and various characters, is conveniently located at the foot of the slopes.

A proper mountain village rather than a purpose-built resort, Soldeu is ideally suited to families and mixed-ability groups. There are several pubs and bars in the village with live music, perfect for your après-ski hit. The resort delivers a wide choice of relaxed eateries and fine dining choices, whilst on the mountain, there are numerous choices for excellent long lunches and sunny terraces.

El Tarter offers a wide variety of ski terrain for all abilities, from beginner-friendly slopes to freeride and high-mountain areas. Families can enjoy the Bababoom Circus, a dedicated children’s circuit, while the Grandvalira Adventure Centre provides unforgettable experiences such as dog sledding and snowshoeing through stunning winter landscapes.

The sector is also home to Snowpark El Tarter along with the most iconic après ski venue in the Pyrenees, L’Abarset.

Soldeu and El Tarter have proudly hosted the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, welcoming the world’s leading skiers to their renowned slopes in both 2019 and 2023. El Tarter also hosted the women’s Alpine Ski World Cup Super-G in February 2026, further cementing the area’s reputation as a world-class destination for international ski racing.
