Penthouse Mathilde is a striking modern luxury apartment in the centre of Morzine, and part of the exclusive Les Barmes des Mossettes development. The resort centre is only a 7 minute flat walk away, and there is also a supermarket just a few minutes walk away. The nearest ski lift, the Super Morzine gondola, is only 500m away, and which gives access to the extensive skiing of the Portes du Soleil.
The apartment, arranged over two floors and sleeping up to 9 people, is the only penthouse in the development. On the lower entrance level, there are 3 of the 4 double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite facilities. One of these bedrooms can also be arranged with twin beds, and another also has an additional single bunk bed, so a great room for a young family.
Heading upstairs and you step into the large open plan living space with feature fireplace and floor to ceiling windows that draw your view out over the village and surrounding mountains. A separate bar and mezzanine area tucked behind the living room has a bespoke bar to prepare drinks each evening, or the opportunity to tuck yourself away with a good holiday book.
The fourth en-suite bedroom is tucked away from the living area on the top floor and has a king-size double bed. Outside the balcony wraps around the entire floor and provides spacious terracing and is home to the large 6 seat hot tub, which you can sink into for your own private après ski sessions. There are also several seating areas from which to simply enjoy the view or partake in some alfresco dining in the warmer months.
As well as the main living accommodation the apartment also benefits from two car parking spaces and a large storage cave which is perfect for skis in winter, bikes in summer, or for bulky luggage.
In the evenings, if you do not fancy preparing your own home cooked meals, the excellent La Chaudanne restaurant is located just across the road. Or an easy walk brings you into the resort centre, where there is an abundant choice of eateries and bars to discover. Morzine is also an excellent choice for non-skiers, as the village is always bustling with activity year-round.
