Chalet Ecureuil is a self-catered ski in ski out chalet in Alpe d’Huez located in the Cognet district. This highly desirable location provides views over the nursery slopes, ski lifts and extensive pistes of this high-altitude ski resort. There are shops, bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk, whilst the resort centre is just a 10-minute walk away.
The chalet has three floors and offers 195m2 of floor area. Sleeping 8-12 guests there are five en-suite bedrooms spread between the three levels. The rooming is deal for several families with two double, two twin and one dormitory room with 2 bunk beds perfect for 4 children. The bedrooms all have either south-facing terrace or balcony access.
The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is on the middle floor. This bright space is flooded with natural light and opens onto a lovely south-facing balcony overlooking the ski slopes and Oisans Massif. The lounge is equipped with a flat screen TV and fireplace, whilst the open kitchen with island unit and breakfast bar overlooks the corner dining table.
To complete your stay, on the garden floor the chalet offers a spa area with an indoor hot tub and sauna. The chalet also offers a ski room with boot heaters, laundry facilities with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and if driving to Alpe d’Huez there is also a garage with three car parking spaces.
The chalet offers access onto the Bergers piste and it is just 100m to the DMC or Signal ski lifts and ski school meeting points. The chalets’ location makes it a great choice for mixed ability ski groups, with the gentle beginner slopes all around the chalet, and a great network of blue and red slopes higher up the mountain.
There is a small selection of bars and restaurants, plus ski rental shop within a few minutes walk, and the main resort centre is also accessible on foot or using the resort ski bus service.
