La Grange au Merle is a renovated traditional Savoyard farmhouse located in the picturesque resort of Châtel, at the heart of the vast Portes du Soleil ski domain. Located close to Chatel village centre the chalet has amazing views of the Mont du Grange nature reserve and Abondance valley.
The original character of this property has been maintained with wood interiors, exposed ceiling beams and a roaring fireplace. The addition of modern facilities including an outdoor hot tub and sauna create an alpine retreat from which to enjoy the landscape and time in the mountains.
The heart of the chalet is the full width, south facing living space, with stunning views over the village and mountains. This area comprises a cocktail bar, lounge with warming fire and seated dining for 12 guests. A movie lounge and kid’s playroom are available along with a library and office in the mezzanine. In the cave under the chalet the carnotzet can be found, where guests can escape for an evening of wine tasting.
The chalet can sleeps 10 adults and 3 children in six tastefully decorated bedrooms; perfect to accommodate a group of friends or two or three families. La Grange et Merle has 6 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. All open onto the south facing balcony or a garden terrace, with the exception of the mezzanine bedroom which sits beside the library.
Outdoors, there is a safe enclosed garden with children’s wooden alpine playhouse, and parking for two cars.
There is a ski bus stop directly outside La Grange au Merle and if you wish to walk, it is a pleasant 10 to 15 minute stroll to the town square.
La Grange au Merle is available to rent on a self-catered basis. It is also possible to arrange different catered packages, as well as in-resort taxis, with an additional charge.
