The luxury chalet Ferme du Rys is a wonderfully renovated farmhouse that dates back to 1798. Here you are located just above the traditional alpine village of La Chapelle d’Abondance, and a few minute’s drive to Chatel. The property perfectly blends original features with contemporary interior design and modern facilities to create one of the finest chalets in the Portes du Soleil ski area.
The chalet is arranged over four floors with the interior carefully arranged to compliment the natural beauty of this traditional property. The spacious open plan living area is jam packed full of original wooden beams that contrast with section of glass floor and a central board formed concrete plinth with 2-sided wood burner.
Jaw dropping mountain views flood through three huge sliding glass doors which lead you out onto the balcony. For those looking for a little quiet space the reading snug is a cosy and idyllic spot to escape the world for a few chapters of your holiday book. Just off the living room is a cosy TV snug where you can also enjoy the gorgeous mountain views through the large picture window which faces the Dent du Midi.
The open plan kitchen and dining areas are modern and stylish and the perfect space to prepare and enjoy dinners with family and friends. This area also enjoys further views of the ‘Dents du Midi’ Swiss mountain range. The marble kitchen island provides a social hub for catching up on the stories of the day and we all know the kitchen is the place where the best parties start.
Sleeping up to 8 adults and 5 children in comfort, there are five en-suite bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms can be arranged with either double or twin beds, whilst the fifth room is a children’s suite with 2 x bunk beds, a further single bed and kids snug.
For entertainment the dedicated cinema room has 2 tier seating, streaming channels and games console. The games room offers hours of fun with a pool table and table tennis, whilst the spa treatment zone has an 8 person sauna, shower and massage table. Ferme du Rys also boasts a wonderful hot-tub and decking area taking in the stunning views and tranquil mountain setting.
The nearest ski lift is the Telecabine de la Panthiaz, and it is very easy to drive to the ski lifts in Chatel and Pre La Joux.
Ferme du Rys is available to rent on a self-catered basis. It is also possible to arrange different catered packages, as well as in-resort taxis, with an additional charge. Short stay dates are available on request.
