Les Crosets, situated at an altitude of 1,668m, is located in a beautiful sunny bowl between Champéry and Morgins. It’s location in the middle of the Portes du Soleil ski area, the largest internationally linked ski area in the world, provides endless winter fun for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Situated in Switzerland, within minutes you can be skiing over the border in France, via the Pointe des Mossettes at 2,277m.
Les Crosets is located within 2 hours of Geneva, so makes it a great destination not only for family ski holidays, but also last minute ski weekends. With recent investment to create a modern and efficient ski lift infrastructure, plus ski in ski out slope side accommodation, a ski holiday here is all about maximum time on the mountain.
The ski slopes of the Portes du Soleil include the resorts of Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets and Chatel, providing the perfect ski area for many days adventures.
For those new to skiing, Les Crosets is an excellent choice especially when staying at the Mountain Lodge which is located opposite the nursery slopes. There are plenty of blue slopes to progress on within the Les Crosets bowl, before heading further afield. For intermediate skiers there are blue, red and black runs all available locally and perfect for getting your ski legs before heading further afield in the Portes du Soleil ski domain.
Apart from the huge extent of the ski area, with over 600km of piste on the lift pass, many challenges await those with the required technique and strong legs. For off piste skiers, we would recommend hiring a local mountain guide and ask about checking out the Combe de Bonnavau, the Aiguille des Champeys, Pierre Plate couloir towards Tovassière, or for real experts the Pointe de l'Au couloirs.
For freestyle skiers and boarders, the iconic Superpark is located right in the heart of Les Crosets. Accessible in mere minutes via one of the fastest ski lifts in Switzerland, there is a wide variety of jumps, slides and other features. There are now 2 different snow parks and a space reserved for professionals, for a grand total of over 8 different lines. Les Crosets freestyle reputation has grown to such an extent over the last 10 years that they now host some of the biggest ski and snowboard film production companies.
The scenery around Les Crosets and the rest of the ski area is simply stunning. From the Dent du Midi, composed of seven distinct summits and reaching a height of 3,257m and from the valley floor to the top of Mont Blanc, all your holiday pictures will have an amazing backdrop. There are an almost endless array of mountain refuges and restaurants to enjoy on slope dining. For non-skiers or those looking for a relaxing break from the ski slopes, the thermal baths in Levey des Bains can be easily accessed.
