Chalet SNEG is a luxury ski chalet in Tignes Le Lac at an altitude of 2,100m. Situated in the Tignes Les Almes south facing hamlet, the resort centre is just a 6-minute walk away. For those who love easy access to the ski slopes, the blue Almes piste is just a 40m walk away providing almost ski in ski out access. The chalet, built for the 2024/25 ski season, provides the perfect base to explore the high altitude Espace Killy ski area.
The chalet is arranged across three floors and 400m2 of floor area. There are two entrances into the chalet, one on the ground floor for skiers with all their equipment, and one on the first floor if arriving in your normal shoes. The property can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 bedrooms which range in size from 22 to 26m2, all with either a terrace or balcony facing either East, South or West.
The main communal living spaces are on the middle level where there is an open plan living and dining room, as well as semi-open kitchen. The lounge area features a fireplace and opens out onto a south facing balcony. There is also a separate multi-use games / cinema / meeting room with pool table convertible into a meeting table, video projector for home cinema or conference presentation, as well as a seating area and wine cellar.
On the ground floor is your private spa with indoor hot tub, steam room, experiential shower and relaxation area with music system, whilst outside a further hot tub and sauna. Balconies and terraces are equipped with outdoor furniture and offer views over the resort and Grand Motte glacier.
The six bedrooms are split evenly between the three floors and all feature en-suite facilities and toilets. With two fixed double bedrooms and four bedrooms which can be arranged with either twin or a double bed, there is excellent flexibility for different groups or several families looking to ski holiday together.
On the lowest level of the chalet there is also a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and the ski room features ski racks, plus boot and glove dryers. If driving to Tignes, the chalet also has 3 outdoor car parking spaces available.
The nearest ski slope is the blue graded Almes piste which is only a 40m walk up from the chalet. Once on this piste you can ski quickly down to the Chaudannes and Paquis chairlifts. The Chaudannes chairlift brings you up onto the ski slopes heading towards the Aiguille Percee and the famous Eye of the Needle rock formation. The Paquis chairlift brings you up onto the Toviere sector and heading towards the Val d’Isere sector.
The resort centre of Tignes Le Lac is a 400m walk away and from here you also have a choice of ski lifts to choose from, including the fast Palafour chairlift. From the top of the Palafour chairlift there is a lovely network of blue and red slopes with stunning views over the Lac de Tignes, which is frozen in the winter months.
Alternatively, you can take the Aeroski gondola which brings you onto the Toviere mountain. Now you have a choice between heading down onto the ski slopes of Val d’Isere or skiing over to Tignes Val Claret. If sticking to the Tignes side of the ski area, once in Val Claret you can take the funicular up to 3,000m followed by the cable car to access glacier skiing at 3,500m.
If you require ski school, the French Ski School (ESF) as well as other international ski schools have meeting points in the centre of Tignes Le Lac and next to the Aeroski gondola. There is also an ESF Piou Piou kids club in Tignes Le Lac which offers 3 to 5 year old children fun and friendly ski tuition and to assist in that first experience of sliding on snow.
From the chalet it is an easy and slightly downhill 6-minute walk to the centre of Tignes Le Lac and the tourist office on the main snow front. In the evenings, Tignes is a very lively ski resort with a fun après ski and bar scene. A 24-hour a day ski bus service also conveniently connects the 3 Tignes resorts of Le Lac, Val Claret and Le Lavachet.
