Chalet Sources de la Davie is a self-catered chalet in the traditional village of Tignes Les Brévières. Its elevated setting facing south and west delivers panoramic views across the resort, home ski run and towering mountains. Situated at an elevation of 1,550m the village provides quick gondola access into the high-altitude ski area of Tignes and Val d’Isere.
The chalet sleeps 10-13 guests and is arranged across four floors and 270m2 of floor area in addition to 100m2 of terraces and balconies. The top floor of the chalet features the stunning split level communal living spaces. Stairs firstly bring you up into the lounge with a striking suspended fireplace and large sofas all set beneath the beautiful, high timber roof.
The lounge is filled with natural light from numerous French doors which open out onto a wraparound balcony. From here steps bring you up to the open kitchen and dining room that overlooks the lounge. This convivial space even features an upright piano, the perfect accompaniment for dinner parties should you have someone musically talented in your group!
One floor down and this is where the entrance to the chalet is located along with the ski room with heated boot and glove dryers. The first of the chalet’s six bedrooms are located on this level, with two double rooms both with en-suite facilities and access to a terrace. Taking the stairs down a further floor and there are two more en-suite double bedrooms again with terrace access.
On the lowest floor of the chalet are the final two bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom with an-suite shower room, and the second is ideal as a children’s bedroom with a small double bed with single bunk bed above. This final bedroom has an en-suite shower, along with a separate toilet in the adjacent hallway.
The chalet is well equipped to keep you entertained and rejuvenated once back from the ski slopes. On the first floor is a dedicated cinema room for immersive movie nights in, and this room also features a Bonzini table football. The wellness facilities feature an indoor counter-current swimming pool along with an outdoor hot tub and outdoor barrel sauna.
To access the skiing, the chalet is situated next door to the pedestrian funicular lift which connects you to the main resort level in a couple of minutes. After this it is just a 2-3-minute walk to the snow front and Brévières gondola. The local ski school meeting points and nursery slopes are conveniently located next to the gondola station. The gondola connects you to the higher village and slopes of Tignes Les Boisses, where another gondola whisks you up higher into the ski area.
The centre of Tignes Les Brevieres is a gentle 10-minute downhill walk from the chalet. The village features a baroque church dating back to 1727 and along with stone and wood chalets, and local Savoyard restaurants, it has retained a village spirit of yesteryear. There is also a small supermarket and several bars, though you can head to Tignes Le Lac or Val d’Isere, both under a 20-minute drive away, for a larger choice of restaurants, bars and shops.
