Chalet La Ferme d’Edouard is a beautiful luxury ski chalet in St Martin de Belleville. This historic property, once an old barn and stable, is full of character and has been lovingly renovated into a modern mountain holiday home. A warm and welcoming space, it tells the story of family, tradition, and transformation, much like the charming ski resort of Saint Martin itself.
This huge chalet is arranged over five floors plus a garage and 460m2 of floor area. It perfectly blends the materials of the region together with the facilities of a top-of-the-range chalet. Sleeping up to 10 adults and 4 children, the chalet offers six bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. Add in spacious living areas and private spa facilities, it is one of the best self-catered chalets for large family groups in St Martin de Belleville.
The main living rooms are located across level 1 of the chalet, with the living and dining room featuring a stunning vaulted wood ceiling. This grand space is also filled with natural light from the large picture windows that lead out onto two separate balconies. The elevated setting also delivers expansive views out across the valley below and mountains opposite.
The living room features a huge L-shape sofa with plenty of room for everyone, whilst the glass fronted fireplace adds a modern twist to the design. Behind the living area is the large dining table which sits beneath a quirky chandelier. To the rear of this floor is the large kitchen with breakfast bar, and with an entrance at either side as well as a glass window, it ensures the conviviality of this communal space.
Up on the top floor and tucked away from the rest of the group is the charming master bedroom with en-suite bath and shower. On the ground floor are two double bedrooms both with en-suite shower rooms. On the floor below are also a further two double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, plus a great children’s bedroom with 4 single beds arranged like bunk beds, and again with an en-suite shower room.
Heading down one level again and you have a whole floor dedicated to the private wellness area. Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool all overlooked by a charming mural of cows, an artistic nod to the property’s heritage. There is also a sauna and steam room in which to ease tired muscles, along with an Italian style shower. The pool area also opens out onto a huge terrace, perfect for the warmer spring months.
The chalet also has a garage, and there is an electric car charging station for any clients driving to resort with an electric car. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a large ski room with heated boot and glove dryers.
The chalet is an easy walk away from the Place de l’Eglise in the resort centre, and where the shops and restaurants are concentrated. It’s also from this square that you can go skiing, thanks to the Village ski lift which takes you a little way up the slopes, after which you can ski down to the main fast Saint Martin gondola which quickly whisks you up the mountain.
The free resort ski shuttle bus also runs past the chalet to the Saint Martin gondola, which takes you to the 3 Vallées slopes in just six minutes. From Saint Martin de Belleville it is easy to ski over to Meribel, or further up the valley to Les Menuires and Val Thorens. The blue slope, Biolley, which brings you back to the resort, is a long, wide, and fun piste on which to end your day’s skiing.
