Chalet Seren is a self-catered chalet in Chamonix. The chalet is a rare find in the valley as it is so centrally located. You are only a couple of minutes’ walk from Chamonix’s town square as well as the Aiguille du Midi cable car. Even though the bustle of resort life is on your doorstep, the fenced garden provides a little oasis of calm right in the heart of Chamonix.
The chalet is arranged over three floors and 250m2 of floor area. Inside the elegant yet cosy interior provides the perfect alpine home for your winter or summer holiday in the Alps. The entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor, where there is a dedicated ski room with ski boot heaters, ski racks and plenty of seating and storage for all your mountain gear from skiing, hiking to bikes.
The main living spaces are open plan and open out onto a large deck, perfect for entertaining whatever the weather due to two infra-red heaters and a fire-pit that will keep you warm and cosy. A large, sunken wooden hot tub is a welcome sight where you can relax and take in the views. In the summer you can enjoy a game or two of Petanque with your own court in the garden.
Back inside and the lounge features comfortable sofas set around a contemporary log burning fireplace. The sleek and fully equipped kitchen is adjacent to the dining table that seats 10. From this level stairs lead up to first floor where the main sleeping quarters are. The chalet sleeps 8-10 guests, and here there are two double and two twin/double bedrooms all with en-suite facilities.
Let’s take the stairs back down and head to the lower ground floor. The fifth and final bedroom is tucked away on this level and features 2 sets of bunk beds as well as an en-suite shower room and WC.
This floor, however, is mainly used for entertainment and relaxation with a games room with pool table, plus a dedicated cinema room offering a full entertainment package, including games consoles, and streaming services. The cinema also features an illuminated bespoke mountain range feature-wall that brings the wow-factor. There is also a small wellness area with sauna and rain shower.
There are two supermarkets within 600m of the chalet, so it is easy to make sure you have all the provisions you need for home cooking. If you prefer going out for lunch or dinner, there are numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars all within walking distance. Chamonix is a year-round destination and therefore offers excellent facilities for non-skiers too, including a sports centre and cinema.
When it comes to skiing, for those learning to ski the Savoy nursery slopes are 800m away, and the Planards nursery slopes 900m. The nearest ski slopes for those who can already link their turns is at the Brevent / Flegere area which sits above Chamonix town centre. The Brevent gondola is 1,000m away, and the return ski slope from this area descends back into Chamonix.
The other ski areas of the Chamonix valley include Grands Montets which is a real adventure playground for strong skiers and snowboarders. At either end of the valley are Les Houches and Le Tour, and these areas offer a more varied network of slopes for all levels.
To maximise your time in resort it is advantageous to have a car, thought the resort does offer a comprehensive bus and train service. The nearest bus stop (Le Lyret – Mulet) is just 270m from the chalet.
Chalet Seren is available to rent on a self-catered basis. Additional services such as in-chalet catering, driver service, or additional housekeeping can all be arranged at extra cost.
