Chalet Black Stone in located in the sought after area of Les Bois in the Chamonix valley. This great setting means you are only a 3-minute driving from the cable car at La Flégère. Surrounded by trees and magnificent mountain views, this is a chalet for true mountain lovers. The views of some of the most famous mountains in Europe makes it the perfect base for an adventurous holiday in the Alps.
The chalet is spread across three floors and a mezzanine and offers 326m2 of floor space. Built in a traditional stone and wood style, the interior provides a contrast with sleek and contemporary styling. The open plan living rooms are spread across the first floor with the mountain views taking centre stage, framed by the floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted roof.
The lounge area has comfy sofas and a large wood burner for cosy nights in when you can watch the snow falling all around the chalet. The fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar overlooks the dining table, and the wrap around terrace offers more outdoor entertaining space. Upstairs, the mezzanine overlooks the living room and provides space for a quiet read as well as a desk for any remote working if required.
The chalet sleeps 10 guests in five bedrooms. On the ground floor are two double and two double/twin bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms and toilets. On the first floor is the final bedroom which has a double bed, en-suite shower, and adjacent communal toilet. The bedroom layout offers good flexibility for a group of friends or a couple of families to holiday together.
The chalet is well blessed for spa and entertainment facilities. Outside in the garden is a hot tub whilst on the lowest level of the chalet is a spa area with heated resistance swimming pool and sauna. The wellness area has a built in TV so can also double up as a workout area too. For fun nights in there is a dedicated cinema room with bar, and this space also works perfectly as a separate playroom for children.
The chalet also has ample underground parking as well as a large ski room. A Bose system connected via iPads also lets you play your own music throughout the chalet.
To maximise your time in resort it is advantageous to have a car, though the resort does offer a comprehensive bus and train service. The nearest bus stop (Les Bois) is 450m from the chalet. For grocery shopping there is a large supermarket a 4.5km drive away, and the bustling centre of Chamonix is the same distance from the chalet.
The Flegere / Brevent ski slopes are the nearest of Chamonix’s four separate ski area, with the Flegere lift just 1.3km away. For those learning to ski, the 2 dedicated nursery areas of Savoy and Planards are a 4km and 4.5km drive from the chalet.
The other ski areas of the Chamonix valley include Grands Montets, 4.2km away, and is a real adventure playground for strong skiers and snowboarders. At either end of the valley are Les Houches and Le Tour, and these areas offer a more varied network of slopes for all levels.
Chalet Black Stone is available to rent on a self-catered basis with daily housekeeping and daily delivery of bread & pastries. Additional services such as in-chalet catering or driver service can all be arranged at extra cost.
