In the wintertime when staying on a catered basis, your dedicated chef will do all the hard work cooking up fresh breakfasts and dinners so that you have enough energy for your mountain adventures. If staying in the summer on a self-catered basis, the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking up family meals, and the marble island with barstools a great spot for a relaxed breakfast.

The first of the chalet’s bedrooms is also on the top floor with the master suite tucked away behind the dining room. This bedroom has spectacular views of the valley from its private balcony, along with the comfort of a walk-in wardrobe and open plan bathroom.

Taking the stairs down to the middle floor and this is where most of the sleeping quarters are located. Here there are five en-suite bedrooms all with balcony access and en-suite bath or shower rooms. Two of the rooms have fixed double beds, whilst the other three can be set up with either double or twin beds depending on your group requirements.

The final bedroom is snugly situated on the ground floor and is a four-bed bunk room, providing the perfect space for children to have their own retreat. The single bunk beds are also large enough to accommodate adults if required. This bedroom has access to two separate bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower, and both have a toilet.

After a full day of skiing, return home to relax and recover with a wealth of private spa and entertainment facilities. The outdoor hot tub invites you to sit under the stars with a glass of champagne as the jets massage your muscles or climb into the Størvatt Nordic sauna to sweat out your toxins and prepare for another day.

Inside, sink into the cinema room’s velvet L-shaped sofa to watch your favourite films with high-speed internet and surround sound. WiFi and desks are available in all the bedrooms, ideal for the digital nomad and for staying connected.

From the top of the Chamonix valley, Chalet Khione’s south-west-facing balconies catch the last of the day’s sun and boast views of the highest peak of the Alps, Mont Blanc.

In the wintertime, the Le Tour Balme / Vallorcine ski area is the closest to the chalet and just a 5-minute walk away, and where there is also dedicated nursery slopes on which to learn to ski. It is an 8-minute drive to Grand Montets ski area which is a real adventure playground for strong skiers and snowboarders.

Further along the valley is the Flegere / Brevent ski area which is a 15-minute drive away, and at the other end of the valley are Les Houches, and both offer a variety of slopes for all levels. The centre of Chamonix with its abundance of cafes, restaurants, bars and sports boutiques is an 18-minute drive away.

If visiting in the summer, you can start exploring straight from the chalet with over 24km of hiking trails accessible from the front door. The valley offers almost endless adventures and activities whether on land or in the air, and with many gondolas and cable cars open too, it makes it easy to reach the high alpine areas with minimal effort!

Chalet Khione is available to rent on a catered chalet basis in the winter and a self-catered basis the rest of the year. On a catered basis, the chalet includes a shuttle service in the valley in a 7-seater ID Buzz minibus. Wine and beer is served with dinner on 5 nights on a 7 night stay, otherwise alcoholic & soft drinks are an additional cost, and it is possible to add an Optional Drinks Package with an additional charge.

Outside of the peak weeks, short stays of a minimum of 4 nights with a flexible arrival day are also offered.
