Chalet Pollux is one of three unique and very rare Zermatt residences including Chalet Gemini and Chalet Castor. A luxurious free standing three storey independent chalet with 4 bedrooms, large enough for families or groups of 8. With all the beds able to be configured as either doubles or twins, the chalet provides great flexibility for all group types.
Its location provides the best of both worlds with spectacular views and easy access. Side by side, tucked against a beautiful hillside, the numerous balconies and large terraces give you bird’s eye views of the village and the surrounding mountains, encompassing all three of Zermatt’s ski areas. Yet access is easy and you are only 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run.
At street level there is a tunnel which leads you to a lift built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 2 minute walk to the property. The chalet comes with an electro transporter, which the staff will use to move your luggage and shopping as required. Skis and boots can be left in the tunnel’s ski-room. Although it does not have a Matterhorn view, the chalet is bathed in sun as soon as it emerges. The chalet is a mirror image of Chalet Castor.
The chalet has been tastefully decorated delicately combining an alpine, cosy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone. It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a hundred satellite channels, a fireplace and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet’s carbon footprint as much as possible.
On the ground floor the chalet features an entrance hallway that opens onto a living room with a wood fireplace, satellite TV/DVD and music system and a dining area with open plan modern kitchen. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor, which features a bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a bath and a W/C. This is flanked by a further double bedroom also with open plan en-suite bathroom (shower) and separate W/C.
The second floor has traditional chalet-style sloping wood ceilings and features a bedroom with en-suite bathroom and separate W/C. There is also a further double bedroom with its own bathroom (shower) and separate W/C. Each bedroom has its own TV (satellite/DVD) and stunning mountain views and three of the bedrooms with own balcony.
On the ground floor, the living room has a patio terrace where the chalet has its own private outdoor hot-tub. Surrounded by snow in the winter this is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view, or the stars, after a long day in the mountains. The chalet is equipped with wireless broadband.
Chalet Pollux is available to rent on a catered chalet, self-catered and bed & breakfast basis.
