Chalet Orca, finalist of the World Ski Awards 2020, is part of “Le Mouton à Bascule”, a complex of two prestigious chalets unique in Val d’Isere. One of the finest new luxury ski chalets in the Alps, this beautiful property offers outstanding spa facilities together with first class service. The chalet is located in Le Fornet at the head of Val d’Isere and is one of the only places in resort to guarantee maximum sunshine all year round.
The chalet is arranged over four floors all connected by stairs and elevator plus an additional mezzanine floor above the main living area. Sleeping 10-14 people there are 5 en-suite bedrooms arranged on the ground and first floors. The entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor where there is the ski room with boot warmers.
The second floor is an architectural gem that’s setting new standards for design in this world class ski resort. This open plan room features huge floor-to-ceiling windows, and with a 180-degree view, will provide a completely immersive view of the mountains. The cathedral like proportions add to the grandeur and leave you without doubt you are staying in a very special chalet.
The sitting room is of course centred on the fireplace and the designer sofas are the place to gather before dinner for aperitifs. From here you can step out onto the terrace and catch the sun setting. The dining table faces the kitchen so that you can enjoy watching your chef plate up each evening and dine in private with family and friends.
Above the living room is the added joy of a mezzanine floor with an incredible view of the old village of Le Fornet. This space is designed for entertainment with a TV lounge and pool table. Meanwhile, the lowest floor of the chalet is dedicated to relaxation with an extensive private spa area. There is an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym and Italian style shower.
The first floor is dedicated to sleep and private space with three twin or double bedrooms plus the deluxe master suite. The final bedroom is located on the ground floor and is perfect as a family suite or dedicated children’s room and can sleep up to 6 people.
The Le Fornet cable car and bottom of the ski slopes are only 150m from the chalet. The centre of resort is a 3 minute chauffeured drive away and the driver service is available for 10 hours per day.
The chalet is rented on a fully staffed basis including chef, butler, housekeeper and chauffeur. The chef will prepare daily breakfast and afternoon tea, and evening dinner menu’s on 6 evenings tailored to your preferences. The cost of the food and drink is charged extra in resort.
The chalet is located next door to Chalet Orso and both chalets can be rented together to create Chalet Les Ours which sleeps up to 27 people. This would make an exceptional private destination for larger groups, several families or a special celebration.
