Taking the lift down to the basement level and your eyes will light up at the sight of your private spa and wellness area. Here you can unwind to your hearts content, whether back from the ski slopes, or just enjoying a lazy day in the chalet. The choice of facilities is extensive, with a counter-current swim spa, Finnish sauna, Turkish steam room, emotional showers, massage room and relaxation area inside, as well as an outdoor hot tub in the private garden.

The chalet has five en-suite bedrooms that all offer a cocooning space for a peaceful night’s sleeps. On the ground floor there is one double bedroom that features its own private sauna as well as terrace access and an en-suite with a twin shower.

The remaining four bedrooms are arranged across the top two floors of the chalet. The first is a double bedroom that has a corner fireplace, 2 private balconies and an en-suite with double shower. The next is a spacious double bedroom with both a bath and shower and balcony access. This bedroom also has a mezzanine area with a single bed accessed by a wood ladder.

The final bedroom on the first floor is a bunk room perfect for children. This room has an en-suite shower room, balcony access, and can have an additional single bed added to bring the occupancy up to 3. The final bedroom is tucked away in privacy on the top floor and is accessed by the stairs. Bedroom 5 is a charming double room set beneath the roof with a fireplace and an en-suite shower room.

The chalet also has a dedicated ski room with boot heaters along with laundry facilities with a washing machine and tumble dryer. If any guests are self-driving to Livigno for their stay at Chalet Akaroa, there are two garage car parking spaces available along with EV charging.

The chalet is located at the top end of the resort in a convenient location for accessing the ski slopes. The Cassana gondola is only a 150m walk away and provides access to beginner slopes as well an extensive network of pistes on the Carosello side of Livigno’s ski area. To access the slopes on the other side of the valley, the Mottolino gondola is a 5-minute drive away and a free shuttle also links the two sides and run regularly between throughout the day.

Away from the ski slopes, the heart of Livigno is also easily accessible on foot. The main shopping street, Via Plan, is an 800m / 10-12-minute walk from the chalet. There are numerous restaurants, bars and shops along this street and it is a pleasant stroll after a day’s skiing. There are also restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes’ walk of the chalet too if you prefer to stay closer to home.

Numerous winter walking routes, snowshoe and cross-country skiing trails can be accessed in the valley. Lake Livigno, at an altitude of 1,816m, is also a 20-minute walk or a few minutes’ drive from the chalet.

For large groups, Chalet Akaroa can be rented in conjunction with its sister property, Chalet Akon, which is located next door and sleeps 8-11 guests. This creates a solution for up to 23 guests looking to holiday in the same location.

Chalet Akaroa is available to rent on a self-catered chalet basis. It is also possible to organise, with an additional charge, breakfast service and a chef for dinners.
