Chalet Serge is a luxury ski chalet located in Cortina d’Ampezzo, known as the Pearl of the Dolomites. The chalet is located on the edge of Cortina d’Ampezzo and is next door to the Dolomiti Lodge Alverà hotel. Spread across two floors above the hotel restaurant, the chalet offers 250m2 of floor area and can accommodate 6-8 guests. The chalet is characterized by its traditional exterior design that is complemented by the high-quality modern interior design.
The main living areas offer 100m2 of space including a living room with a large 15-seat sofa so there is plenty of room to spread out. Upstairs there is also a separate TV room which works perfectly for family groups with children. There is also a professional kitchen for any home cooking needs, and a large dining table for 12 people. A bathroom is conveniently located next to the entrance lobby.
The spacious master bedroom of 50m2 features a king-size bed and bathroom with double sinks and shower / bathtub. The second double bedroom features an en-suite shower room and panoramic views. The final double bedroom is tucked away in the attic on the next floor up and offers a cosy hideaway, with access to a shower room on the floor below. The final bedroom has a bunk bed and is on the main living floor.
The chalet is also equipped with your own private wellness area to enjoy in privacy on your return from the ski slopes. Here you can delight in your own personal spa journey starting with the heat of the sauna or steam room, after which you can instantly refresh with the cold-water bucket drench before unwinding in the 2.1m round Jacuzzi. Once rejuvenated, simply lay on a lounger before a quick shower before dinner.
As guests staying in Chalet Serge, you also benefit from access to the wellness facilities in the neighbouring Dolomiti Lodge Alverà hotel. Here you can enjoy the indoor / outdoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area with herbal tea service, plus Zero Body Starpool. There is also a gym equipped with Technogym equipment, and a small spa where beauty treatments can be booked.
If you prefer dining out but do not wish to head out into the centre of Cortina, then the hotel has a restaurant with 2 different areas. Outside, The Terrace, is a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy lunch surrounded by the mountains with a south facing aspect. Inside, The Restaurant, delivers a food and wine journey through the traditional taste of the Ampezzo valley along a fine selection of more than 200 different wines and spirits.
The ski lifts and slopes of Cortina d’Ampezzo can all be easily reached using the in-resort shuttle service included with your stay at Chalet Serge. It is just a 3-minute shuttle ride to the Cortina-Col Drusciè cable car from where you can access the ski slopes of the Tofana and Cinque Torri ski area. The Faloria cable car station which accesses the Faloria-Cristallo ski area is a 5-minute shuttle ride away.
The Cortina d’Ampezzo ski area offers 120km of slopes accessed via 26 lifts. Artificial snowmaking covers 95% of the slopes, with the ski area also reaching up to nearly 3,000m. There are 66 slopes, all with stunning scenery included as standard, so there is something for every level of skier or snowboarder. Many of the lifts are also accessible for pedestrians, so any non-skiers can meet the rest of the group on the mountain for lunch.
Back down in the valley, Corso Italia in the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, is the most famous pedestrian street in the Dolomites. The bell tower located in the centre is the irrefutable symbol of the town, and visible from almost all locations in the valley. The bars, restaurants and boutiques can all be reached in 5-minutes with the shuttle service.
The Olympic Ice Stadium, built for the Winter Olympics in 1956, is just a 3-minute drive from the chalet. It can be used in both winter and summer and offers a 30m x 60m ice skating rink, bar service, skating instructors, solarium and children’s playground. It also hosts curling and ice hockey matches.
