Chalet La Tene is one of the finest luxury ski chalets in Val d’Isere. Tucked away in the Legettaz area, it is close enough to walk to the village but away from the busyness of the resort centre. For keen skiers who love being first on the slopes, it offers ski in ski out access onto the Santons piste. Once off the slopes, the chalet delivers an abundance of spa and entertainment facilities for a truly memorable ski holiday.
The chalet is arranged across six floors all connected by both stairs and elevator. The entrance to the chalet is on the lowest floor where you arrive into the garage which has underground parking for 2 guest cars and 2 chalet vehicles. There is a guest lobby on this floor which provides comfortable access from the chauffeured van to the elevator which we will take to the top floor.
The upstairs living area is the surely the most spectacular aspect of the chalet with double height windows and ceilings providing an abundant sense of space. The stylish furniture, arranged around the impressive fireplace, will let you relax in luxury and where you can unwind and watch the world ski past.
The centrepiece of this floor is the impressive bar where you can sit, chat away, and sip cocktails prior to dinner service. The commanding world cup black run, La Face, is illuminated at night and provides the dramatic backdrop to the dining room. After dinner, step outside onto the heated deck with fire pit where you can sit and star gaze with a digestif.
Sleeping 12-16 guests, there are six bedrooms plus a bunk room spread across the next 2 floors. All the bedrooms are spacious and bright with en-suite bath or shower rooms and balcony access facing south with views of the pistes and mountains. All rooms can be set up as double or twins to allow maximum flexibility for groups, whilst the cosy bunk room sleeping 4 will be loved by children.
On the first floor terrace there are also 2 outdoor hot tubs which can be accessed from both bedroom levels.
The next 2 floors down offer a huge array of additional features and facilities. First, if you are accessing the chalet on skis, you take the stairs from the slope to the second floor of the chalet where the spacious ski and boot room is located. Once settled back in, head down one further floor to where you can enjoy your own luxurious and private après ski space dedicated to relaxation.
The spa features an indoor swimming pool, sunken hot tub, sauna, steam room, shower, as well as plentiful lounging space and a bar. There is also a dedicated massage room for those in need of a more focused treatment for their tired muscles. In the evenings, you can unwind with the latest Hollywood blockbuster in the cinema room.
In the mornings, head directly from the chalet onto the Santons piste which gently winds down to the main snow front and main lift hub. From here you have a choice of lifts depending on where you want to start your day. Take the Solaise gonolda, and head over to the highest ski slopes of Val d’Isere on the Pisaillas glacier or head up Bellevarde gondola and you can head over to the ski slopes of Tignes.
The centre of Val d’Isere is a 3-minute chauffeured drive away and there is a wide selection of shops, bars, and restaurants to discover. Val d’Isere is well known as an après ski destination so you can enjoy some partying on the slopes before returning to the comfort of the chalet to unwind. For any of your group that require group ski lessons, the driver service can drop you off by the main snow front where the ski school meeting points are located with just a few minutes’ drive.
