Arolay Apartment 3 is a spacious property located in the charming village of Le Fornet in Val d’Isere. The Arolay Residence is located just 200m from the Le Fornet cable car and the bottom of the ski slopes. The peaceful area of Le Fornet is a great setting for an authentic winter holiday in the French Alps, surrounded by beautiful stone chalets set along the Isere river.
Arolay 3 is a duplex apartment on the upper floors of the residence. There is an elevator in the residence, though within the apartment the two levels are connected by stairs. Sleeping up to 8 people, the apartment has a very spacious feeling with 159m2 of floor area. White walls, plenty of wood panelling along with stylish furniture and muted fabrics creates a very modern alpine interior.
The upper level is home the open plan living and dining room all sitting beneath the striking timber roof. The lounge area is decked out with large, deep sofas and the wood burning fireplace adds a touch of cosy and traditional ambiance. From here you can step outside on to the balconies that offers views over stone roofs and across the river to chalets surrounded by forest and above the mountains and ski slopes.
The dining area comfortably seats eight at the table where you can relax late into the evening over dinner. The semi open kitchen is just to the side of the dining area and is fully equipped for successful home cooking or simple and quick breakfast prep.
Heading down the stairs one level and this is where the sleeping quarters are all tucked away. There are four double bedrooms all with en-suite showers and toilets, and one also features a bathtub too. The bedrooms are decorated with a calm and neutral colour palette ensuring they provide a relaxing haven for a peaceful night’s sleep.
On your return from the ski slopes you will be delighted to head to your own private wellness area. On cold and snowy days, the heat of the sauna will be a welcoming treat for tired muscles. Afterwards you can sink into the Whirlpool bathtub and simply relax.
For those driving to Val d’Isere there is a garage car parking space available. The property also has a washing machine and tumble dryer which is always appreciated by groups with children. There is also a ski locker to keep your ski equipment safe and secure when not on the slopes.
To access the ski slopes, the Fornet cable car is a 200m walk away and gives access to the Fornet sector of the Espace Killy ski area. This sector has the highest ski slopes of Val d’Isere and is also home to the Pisaillas glacier which has pistes extending above 3,000m. The home run back to the village of Le Fornet is on a red run called Mangard, though you can download in the cable car if you prefer.
The centre of Val d’Isere and the main snow front, Solaise and Bellevarde lifts, and ski school meet points are all easily accessible using the free resort ski bus. The ski bus can also be used to access the La Daille area, which is closest to the Tignes slopes, and has both a funicular railway and gondola to access the mountain.
Val d’Isere has a very vibrant bar, restaurant and nightlife scene and which is also easily accessible using the bus service which is frequent and runs late into the night. If you are also enjoying après ski at the famous Folie Douce, afterwards you ski or take the gondola back down to La Daille and can then catch the bus back to Le Fornet.
