Babylon is a new catered ski chalet completed in the spring of 2017. Located in an elevated position in Tignes les Brevières, it was designed by Guerlain Chicherit, the brainchild behind chalets Quezac and Rock n Love. The chalet’s bold design, feature pieces of object d’art, contemporary artwork and furniture are sure to create endless conversations after a days skiing in the Espace Killy.
The chalet is one of 6 within the Black Diamond residence that share a communal entrance along with stairs and elevator access to the properties front door. Stepping into Babylon transports you to another world filled full of fun, entertainment as well as some obligatory ski holiday relaxation. Once inside, the chalet is spread over 4 floors and 400m2 of living space all connected by private stairs and elevator.
The chalet sleeps up to 8 adults and 4 children in 5 bedrooms all featuring en-suite bathrooms. On the chalet’s entrance floor there are 2 large master suites with fixed double beds as well as a bunk room with 2 full size bunk beds.
The final 2 bedrooms are located on the top floor under the beautiful sloping wooden eaves, again with fixed double beds. The middle 2 floors of the chalet provide the open living spaces, with the dining room and open plan kitchen on the second floor and the centerpiece living room on the third.
The bright and spacious kitchen/diner provides you the opportunity of enjoying your own private dinner parties. From here you can also access your own private outdoor hot tub with fabulous views across to the famous Sache piste.
The wonderful third floor is the perfect place to entertain with friends and family. The lounge area with leather sofas and large flat screen television is perfect for a movie before dinner. Picture windows let the light flood into this space and lead out to a south facing balcony with outstanding views of the lake and Tignes les Brevières below. The purple baized pool table and bar with funky stools are centered on the feature motorbike “Babylon” from the Hollywood movie and from which the chalet takes its name.
The 6 chalets of the Black Diamond residence all share access to communal spa facilities including an indoor swimming pool, large sauna and hammam, gym, and spacious terrace with stunning views. The swimming pool can be booked on a private basis, subject to a set schedule.
The property is 100m from the mini funicular access, which provides easy access to the centre of resort and ski lifts and pistes. From there, Tignes Le Lac is 2 ski lifts away, whilst Val d’Isère only 3. Please note the mini funicular access from central Brevières to the chalets stops at around 18:30 daily.
Guests will have access to a ski shuttle driving service within Tignes Les Brevieres.
For larger group ski holiday’s, the Chalet Babylon can be rented in conjunction with Chalet Ubud, Chalet Banksy, Chalet Raven, Chalet Tango or Chalet Charlie.
