Chalet du Bois Melay is a spacious luxury ski chalet in La Plagne 1800 in the Paradiski ski area. Sleeping up to 15 guests in 7 en-suite bedrooms, this is a great chalet for several families or a large group of friends looking to ski holiday together. Nestled in a pine forest and at an altitude of 1850m, you benefit from easy access to the high-altitude ski slopes of La Plagne that suits all level of skier.
The chalet is arranged across four floors and 320m2 of floor area. The entrance to the chalet is located on level 1, and there is also a separate entrance directly into the ski and boot room. From here you head into the heart of the chalet where the grand, open plan living rooms feature large windows which flood this space with natural light and open out onto a terrace.
The living area is split into 3 distinct areas with a fully fitted American kitchen and dining area, a living room with fireplace, and a reading and music room with piano for convivial moments with family and friends. The dining table consists of 2 tables positioned in a square format for 10 or 12 people or positioned lengthwise for 14 or 15 people to dine together.
Downstairs there is a whole floor dedicated to relaxation and wellness with the indoor swimming pool the stunning centrepiece of the chalet. After a long day skiing what better way to unwind than with a dip or relax on the poolside loungers all with a mountain view. Adjacent to the pool there is a gym room with water rower and dumbbells, as well as a sauna where you can ease tired muscles.
Once you have rejuvenated in the spa facilities you can enjoy a game of table football in the playroom, or head into the dedicated home cinema room for a movie. The cinema room also works well as a secondary living room for family groups that want a dedicated space for the children to enjoy together.
The chalet’s seven bedrooms are arranged across the upper three floors of the chalet. On the entrance level there is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. There are then three en-suite bedrooms each on the top two floors, all of which can be arranged with either double or twin beds. One of these bedrooms also has a further single bed to create a triple room and bring the chalet occupancy up to 15 people.
Chalet du Bois Melay is ideally located near the shops of Plagne 1800. Just 400 meters away from the ski slopes of La Plagne, they can be easily reached on foot in 10 minutes via a gentle path through the pine woods. From here you can then access the blue slope “Loup” that leads you directly to the ski lift of Les Mélèzes or Plagne 1800 slightly below.
At the end of your ski day, the easiest way back to the chalet is firstly to ski back from Plagne Centre on the blue slope “Loup”. You can choose to either ski on an easy off-piste path to arrive 200m from the chalet on the wooded path called “rue de Constantine” or join the end of “rue de Constantine” and walk the flat 400m back to the chalet.
For those needing ski lessons, on the main snow front in Plagne 1800 the ESF Ski School have group and private lessons, as well as a snow kindergarten for any young skiers in your group. There is a ski rental shop just in front of the chalet and most guests usually rent their equipment there and store it in the chalet ski room.
If you prefer to store your equipment at a rental shop, you can also rent skis at the Sport 2000 in Plagne 1800 next to the chairlift Melezes. If renting from here, ski the return blue slope “Loup” back to the shop, leave your equipment at the shop and change your boots, and then enjoy an après drink at a local bar before the 400m walk back to the chalet.
There are also 2 ski bus stops 50m from the chalet which will give you easy access to Plagne Centre, Plagne Bellecote, or the lowest part of Plagne 1800 village. If driving to resort, there are also 3 car parking spaces available.
Chalet du Bois Melay is available to rent on a self-catered basis, or a catered basis with half board provided with a daily prepared meal delivery.
