The Luxury Chalet Book team took some time away from the busy office to visit the French ski resort of Morzine and view some of the fabulous luxury ski chalets we offer our clients.
It’s easy to see what makes this such a popular resort with our guests. Morzine was originally a traditional Savoyard working village and whilst it has retained much of its charm and character, it now provides its visitors with modern leisure facilities and an increasing number of boutique shops. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with plenty going on and all just over an hour from Geneva airport.
Our first stop took us to White Valley Lodge, which is an exceptionally located catered ski chalet that has proved a real hit with previous Luxury Chalet Book clients. During our visit we were lucky enough to meet the chalet owners for a full insight into their beautiful property. They certainly built it with our clients in mind and with meticulous attention to detail.
The lounge area provides sumptuous sofas to sink into after a hard day on the ski slopes, whilst warming your feet by the fire and enjoying afternoon tea. For total rest and relaxation look no further than your private balcony with a hot tub providing outstanding views, followed with a sauna and a dip in a cold plunge pool if brave enough! Afterwards you’ll be ready to sample some culinary delights, starting with an aperitif and canapés, followed by delightful 4 course dinners and matching fine wines.
At the end of the evening retire to one of the 5 en-suite bedrooms all providing exceptionally comfortable beds, flat screen televisions, Sonos music systems and wake up in the morning to spectacular mountain views direct from your balcony.
White Valley Lodge has a very private location with easy access to the slopes via your dedicated chauffeur service. Couple this with incredible mountain vistas, fabulous service and wonderful spa facilities and you have an exceptional experience you really shouldn’t miss.
Within the same enclave and operated by the owners of White Valley Lodge we had the pleasure to visit Chalet Vorlaz, a luxury catered chalet sleeping up to 12 people. The chalet boasts a hot tub, cinema room, UK Freeview TV and feature fireplace. For corporate holidays or large groups both properties could be rented due to their close proximity.
For a self-catered chalet option in the same location we have Chalet L’Ours, which we instantly renamed the Paris Pad. It’s a stunning contemporary property sleeping up to 16 in 7 bedrooms. The chalet is well equipped for a self-catered ski holiday and comes with morning bakery delivery, hot tub, panoramic views and daily driver service. Catering can be added at an additional cost.
Our next stop took us to Chalet Fourmiliere and as soon as we walked through the door of this luxury chalet we could imagine fabulous dinner parties with family and friends. Nothing is too much trouble for the chalet manager Douglas who clearly loves his job and delivering exceptional service and ski holidays.
Moving through to the lounge it felt like we were in the Downton Abbey of ski chalets. A large, grand open fire dominates the room and before too long we’re imaging a family Christmas or celebration with loved ones and friends all gathered together by the crackling fireplace whilst snow softly falls outside.
With 6 en-suite bedrooms and the ability to sleep an extra child and infant, the chalet sleeps up to 14, making it ideal for a large group gathering. The outdoor hot tub is fabulous for an après ski glass of wine, whilst you watch the children build a snowman in the garden. After a relaxing dip you can retire to the bar for some adult time and the children can play pool in the games room.
With something for the whole family and fabulous entertaining spaces Chalet Fourmiliere has to be a strong contender for anyone looking to enjoy time together as well as fabulous skiing.
To end our day in Morzine we headed to the fabulous Chalet Twenty26. We were very pleased when Chris and Sarah asked us to stay the night at and it’s not difficult to see why we would be so happy. We were immediately greeted by their professional team and given the chalet tour by operations manager Alex and what a tour it is, with 400m2 of living space and 6 en-suite bedrooms sleeping 12 guests in great comfort.
The main living area of the chalet is contemporary in design, airy and spacious with full height windows flooding the room with natural light. Outside wrap around balconies providing panoramic views. It’s easy to imagine settling down here to afternoon tea in front of the fire with a hot chocolate after a full days skiing.
Next we decided to test the spa suite and relaxation area. The chalet spa boasts a massage room, Hydrotherapy area with power shower and steam room. Moving outside you have a sauna, hot tub and heated swimming pool which I can personally vouch for being absolutely fabulous and in an incredibly private setting.
Feeling fully rejuvenated we continued our evening, firstly with an aperitif on the balcony by the fire pit, before moving inside to the dedicated bar where we indulged in the cocktail of the day. We ended the evening with a sumptuous evening meal prepared by head chef Nick and accompanied by some fine wines. Our stay was fabulous and only wished we had more time to enjoy all of the spectacular chalet and spa facilities.
The following morning, with an hour to spare before heading 10km up the road to Les Gets, we sneaked in a visit at Chalet M. This is another property expertly run by Chris and Sarah’s team. The stunning catered chalet offers stylish living in an exclusive elevated setting providing exceptional views over Morzine.
This property also provides an array of facilities for all of the family including a large outdoor hot tub, south facing terrace with fire pit and panoramic mountain views, sauna, hydrotherapy shower, massage room, wine cave and cinema room.
