Courchevel X Saint-Tropez

Nestled amidst the breath-taking French Alps, I was very fortunate to spend two nights in an exquisite ski chalet that promises an unforgettable stay, combining elegance, comfort and stunning mountain vistas.

Chalet White Sand in Courchevel Village (1550) is a magnificent alpine retreat, where every detail has been carefully crafted to create a one-of-a-kind holiday experience that infuses the elegance of the Riviera with the charm of the Alps.

A world of opulence and relaxation awaits you in this winter wonderland, where alpine magic meets the charm of the South of France.

A Home Like No Other

Chalet White Sand offers six beautifully appointed bedrooms, each exuding a warm and an inviting ambiance designed to embrace the picturesque surroundings. Allowing guests to wake up to the sun-kissed mountains and the lush valley below every morning.

As I stepped into the master suite, I was greeted with a sense of grandeur and intimacy that was truly exceptional. Letting the stresses of the day melt away in the deep freestanding bath, surrounded by views over pine trees, I felt a great feeling of calm and tranquillity.

After a comfortable night’s sleep in the king-sized bed and with the press of a button, the curtains pulled back to reveal the sun-drenched mountains. The master suite offers an intimate connection with both the opulence of the chalet and the majesty of the surrounding natural world.

Ski Slope Convenience

For skiing enthusiasts, the location offers an almost ski-in ski-out setting. Stepping out of the boot room, a few steps up lead you onto a short red run down to the main snow front where the chairlift and gondola whisks you up to Courchevel 1850.

At the end of the day, ski back to the chalet via the red run Déviation 1550 which is suitable for intermediate skiers. For those that are beginners or not confident on a red run, this chalet comes with a chauffeur service that can take you to the main snow front area and pick you back up, ready to unwind and relish the après-ski delights that await you.

Unwind and Rejuvenate

Whether you have had a thrilling day on the slopes or deciding on a day of rest, everyone will want to retreat to the haven of relaxation within the chalet. The extensive wellness area boasts a swimming pool, hammam, massage room and sauna.

As I stepped into the private spa, I discovered the inspiration behind the chalet’s name as I felt the soft white sand beneath my feet. A sandy beach area adjacent to the pool, adorned with hammock swings, offers a unique touch, bringing a slice of the coast to the mountains.

The indoor pool also has a snazzy feature that lets you swim outside in the fresh mountain air. At the touch of a button a glass screen rises at one end of the pool, creating a mesmerizing half-indoor, half-outdoor pool experience, while a large screen displays scenes of the iconic St. Tropez beach or beach sunsets, making it a truly immersive environment.

Culinary Delights

During my stay, I had the privilege of savouring the culinary mastery of our private chef, Jean-Christophe. We gathered in the spacious living room, designed for comfort and socialising, with seating set around a central fireplace radiating warmth. The open kitchen seamlessly blended into the living space, fostering togetherness as the chef worked.

Jean-Christophe unveiled a selection of canapés that were the definition of culinary art. Creative combinations and quality ingredients showcased his passion. Octopus tentacles were tender and succulent, offering delicate flavours, and the seafood appetizers transported us to ocean depths.

Classic French indulgence was found in the bitesize croque monsieur’s, with their comforting, cheesy goodness. The culinary journey continued with a quinoa dish adorned with micro herbs and edible flowers, adding colour and flavour. Paired with perfectly chilled champagne, this experience was a celebration of taste and elegance.

The Enchanting Bar

After we indulged in the delectable food prepared by Jean-Christophe, we ventured downstairs to discover the themed bar room, inspired by the charming St. Tropez market place – Place des Lys. I felt immersed in the ambiance of the French Riviera as I sipped on my champagne while being served our mini desserts.

The highlight of this unique area is a full-size Petanque court (100m2), where we all learned how to play the traditional French ball game. The attention to detail is awe-inspiring, as every element has been thoughtfully curated to transport you to the charming ambiance of the French Riviera.

Entertainment Extravaganza

We headed next door to the games room, a vibrant hub of excitement, featuring a pool table, pinball machine, and two racing car arcade machines. We played some competitive pool games, which I particularly enjoyed winning. Others in the group enjoyed the rivalry sparked by the racing car arcade machines. The games room delivers an experience of play and laughter.

Also on this floor is the generously proportioned cinema room that offers sumptuous, cushy bed-style seating for a lavish movie-watching experience.
