The Barn is a charming luxury ski chalet that lies beautifully on the slopes in Oberlech – overlooking the resort of Lech. The chalet is reminiscent of a traditional Austrian farmhouse, but with the high ceilings of a Rocky Mountain lodge, and the soothing atmosphere of a Norwegian cabin. The elevated setting, refined interior, and first-class service and cuisine delivers a truly memorable experience.
This spacious chalet of 1,000m2 is arranged over four floors. Seven individually designed en-suite bedrooms accommodate up to 14 gusts in great comfort. The spacious living and dining areas with an open fireplace ensures quality time is spent with family and friends. A spacious terrace along with balconies deliver breathtaking views of the snow-covered Arlberg mountains.
The chalet has 2 master suites and 5 bedrooms, with the bedrooms arranged across the top two floors. All rooms have their own distinct character and charm, with en-suite bathrooms, panoramic views and lots of natural light.
The main living spaces are spread across the floor below the bedrooms and spill out onto a wide terrace where meals can be enjoyed in the warmer spring months. A circular seating area with mountain backdrop and firepit is a great spot for your favourite après ski tipple. Inside, the cosy ambiance is enhanced with a central fireplace, deep sofas and rich fabrics, and a dedicated bar room for late night conversations.
From freshly baked bread and chocolate chip cookies to more refined experimental cooking – at The Barn styles and traditions are combined in delicious ways that will help to create lasting memories. The experienced chef uses seasonal, local ingredients to create everything from elaborate multi-course dining to casual barbecues on the terrace, and menus can be tailored to your personal taste.
Down on the lowest floor of the chalet is no doubt where you will spend numerous hours relaxing in the wellness area. Enjoy a state-of-the-art gym, sauna and steam room, plus of course the atmospheric indoor swimming pool with views of the Rüfikopf. Treatments and massages in the dedicated massage room can be scheduled upon request.
Adjacent to the spa is the multi-use entertainment room “The Nook”. The is the place to be at the end of the day or when the snow is falling hard. Whether you’re playing pool, chess, or cards, enjoying some music, or showing off with the in-house karaoke, there’s always something to fun to do.
The chalet occupies an envious setting only 50m from the ski slopes of the privileged area of Oberlech. Situated at the edge of the blue graded piste in the Schlossköpfe area, this piste descends to the Schlosskopfbahn chairlift at the edge of the village. The Schlosskopfbahn lift brings you up into the expansive Lech ski area.
For those new to skiing and starting out in ski school or with a private instructor, there are nursery slopes and children’s beginners’ areas in Oberlech and below in Lech village. The chalets driver service is on hand to make sure these are easily reached with the minimum of fuss.
The driver also provides access to Lech, 7-minutes away, and Zürs, 15-minutes, so it is easy for all guests to discover all this magical mountain playground has to offer. If you are meeting up with the skiers in your group for lunch or wish to explore the boutiques or fancy a drink out with friends, the team is on hand to ensure a seamless experience.
The Barn is available to rent on a catered chalet basis (drink cost additional).
