A unique and enchanting chalet, originally built in 1597, it has been lovingly refurbished throughout, with many of the original features thoughtfully retained by the properties owner. The sumptuous fabrics and furniture have been mixed with antique pieces to create a chic, but charming Alpine retreat.
The chalet is set out over three floors, sleeping a total of 12 guests in five spacious en-suite bedrooms. The first master suite boasts its own large drawing / study room and en-suite bathroom with freestanding roll-top bath. Outside, the perfectly situated terrace makes the most of the breathtaking views and enjoys the sun all day long.
Savour an aperitif in the striking atmosphere of the chalet’s traditional stone cave and wine cellar in anticipation of dinner in the impressive dining room with feature fireplace. Afterwards, retire to the cosy living area or perhaps take in a movie in the cinema room.
The chalet also boasts a spa area with a bio sauna and a relaxation area where you can unwind with a massage while watching the sunset over the stunning mountain scape of Lech.
You enter chalet 1597 on the ground floor either directly into the living room or into the winter wet room with heated ski boot rack. The comfy living room, with deep sofas also features a Tyrolean Stube, a traditional heating oven famed in the local region. The stylish cinema room, which is perfect for entertaining the children, is accessed from the living room, as too is the spacious dining room, which is catered from the separate, well-equipped kitchen.
The chalet’s dedicated spa area with bio sauna glass relaxation area and a large double/twin bedroom, with dressing area and en-suite bathroom, is also located on the ground floor.
Heading to the first floor, stairs lead from the dining room to the upper hallway, which features a card playing area and reading nook, perfect for a little escape and quiet time. Four of the chalet’s five bedrooms are located on this floor.
The first master bedroom provides great comfort with an emperor bed, separate sitting area and en-suite bath and shower room. The second master bedroom also provides an emperor bed and an en-suite shower room. The third bedroom offers a double bed with en- suite shower room, whilst children will absolutely love the fourth bedroom, a charming en-suite room with four single beds – their own special mountain hideaway!
To the lower floor of the chalet, and stairs lead down from the dining room to the traditional stone wine cave and tasting room. A garage, with parking for one vehicle is available (vehicle height restrictions apply). There are also two additional exterior parking spaces.
A truly special luxury chalet, it has been voted ‘Austria’s Best Ski Chalet’ at the 2014 World Ski Awards. Located in the Stubenbach area of Lech you can ski into the chalet from the Rüfikoft ski area on a marked off-piste route.
