The apartment is a great value option for those looking for quality accommodation in the high-altitude Espace Killy ski area. The slightly elevated setting also affords lovely views over the resort and La Tovière mountain peak.
This duplex apartment is located on the first floor of the residence and offers 100m2 of floor area. On entering the apartment, you can walk straight through to the open plan living and dining room. This charming space is decorated with plenty of wood panelling to create a cosy haven in which to unwind once back from the ski slopes. The kitchen is tucked away up a few steps behind the dining area.
Sleeping up to 8 guests there are four bedrooms evenly split between the two floors. On the entrance level are two double bedrooms which share a separate shower room and toilet. On the upper level is the master bedroom with balcony and beautiful bathroom with an in-room bath, separate shower and toilet. The final double bedroom has an en-suite shower and toilet.
The property has been thoroughly updated and is decorated in a modern style with aged wood, grey stone and soft muted fabrics. The apartment also has access to a ski locker with boot heaters for all your mountain equipment storage. If driving to resort, there is also a car parking space available.
The nearest ski slopes are the blue graded Almes and Petit Col pistes which are a 120m walk up from the residence. Once on this piste you can ski quickly down to the Chaudannes and Paquis chairlifts. The Chaudannes chairlift brings you up onto the ski slopes heading towards the Aiguille Percee and the famous Eye of the Needle rock formation. The Paquis chairlift brings you up onto the Toviere sector above the frozen lake.
The resort centre of Tignes Le Lac, a short walk away, is also where you have a choice of ski lifts to choose between including Palafour. From the top of the Palafour chairlift there is a lovely network of blue and red slopes with stunning views over the Lac de Tignes.
Alternatively, you can take the Aeroski gondola which brings you onto the Toviere mountain. Now you have a choice between heading down onto the ski slopes of Val d’Isere or skiing over to Tignes Val Claret. If sticking to the Tignes side of the ski area, once in Val Claret you can take the funicular up to 3,000m followed by the cable car to access glacier skiing at 3,500m.
If you require ski school, the French Ski School (ESF) as well as other international ski schools have meeting points in the centre of Tignes Le Lac and next to the Aeroski gondola. There is also an ESF Piou Piou kids club in Tignes Le Lac which offers 3 to 5 year old children fun and friendly tuition to assist with the process of learning to ski.
From the apartment residence it is an easy and slightly downhill 7-minute walk to the centre of Tignes Le Lac and the tourist office on the main snow front. Tignes is a very lively ski resort with a great après ski and bar scene. A 24-hour a day ski bus service also connects the 3 Tignes resorts of Le Lac, Val Claret and Le Lavachet, so it is easy to enjoy dinner out in any of these resort centres.
