Serre Chevalier is made up of 13 villages set along the valley floor, which are spread over 4 main areas, Briancon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve la Salle and le Monetier les Bains, at the gates of the Ecrins National Park. It has one of the Alps largest ski areas with 250km of pistes and offers great skiing in a high mountain bowls, peaceful skiing in the beautiful woods and dedicated beginner areas.
The resort’s ski slopes range from an altitude of 1,200m to 2,735m so you can enjoy great skiing in both a high Alpine and valley setting. The pistes, cut in and above a large larch forest, are spread over 4 distinct sectors and offers a great sense of travel.
The variety of skiing and snowboarding is extensive, along with phenomenal tree skiing and abundant off-piste opportunities.
Serre Chavalier is an attractive resort, with narrow cobbled streets and pretty shops lining the village’s main road. With mainly North facing slopes, an extensive snow-making network and excellent piste grooming, ensuring excellent mountain conditions. This is a resort unlike any other and full of French character, it is a very popular family destination.
