Chalet Original is a wonderful chalet in the Swiss ski resort of Nendaz, part of the extensive 4 Valleys ski area linked with Verbier. Arranged over three floors, this chalet has plenty of space for a large group of friends or several families to enjoy a holiday together. The panoramic views over the Rhone valley can be enjoyed from the terraces and balconies as well as the garden. The chalet sleeps up to 12 guests in five bedrooms.
The main living rooms are located on the middle floor with a combined living/dining area as well as an additional lounge all with stunning views and wood burning fireplaces. Both living rooms feature panoramic windows and access out onto a terrace or balcony. The separate kitchen is also located on this floor and is well-equipped for an independent self-catered holiday.
Upstairs on the first floor are the first two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other a double/twin and both have an en-suite bath and share a toilet on the landing. The final three bedrooms are on the lower floor, with two double/twin rooms featuring en-suite shower rooms, whilst a quad bunk room for 4 people has a separate bathroom. Four of the bedrooms feature TV’s.
For groups who enjoy cosy nights in you will enjoy the large home cinema room with comfy sofas. A second TV lounge with Bose Home Cinema system is also a helpful additional space for those groups with children.
During the ski season, if snow conditions allow, you can depart from the chalet by skiing along a snowy path and joining the Jean-Pierre ski slope after approximately 300 metres. From the chalet to the gondola lift station takes no more than 5 minutes for an average skier. It is possible to ski back to the chalet, but it is not along a pisted ski slope and at one point you have to cross a cleared path. So better to take off your skis and put them on again on the other side.
To walk into the resort centre, it is 20 minutes along a small downhill road. There is a shorter route along a hiking path, which may be icy during the winter months, and which only take 15 minutes. The walk back to the chalet is uphill and will therefore take a little longer.
In the winter ski season, if you arrive by car then a 4×4 or snow chains are mandatory to reach the Les Clèves parking. The chalet has 2 parking spaces at the Les Clèves parking.
Access to the chalet from the les Clèves parking area is normally by Polaris or on foot, which is approximately a 7 minute walk. The rental includes 3 transport trips per group arrival/departure at one time, to/from the chalet and to/from the car park.
