Chalet La Fenice, situated in the high-altitude Italian ski resort of Cervinia, will open its doors for the first time from the 2021/22 winter ski season. Originally built in 1936 by an Italian entrepreneur, the chalet has been completely rebuilt to offer sumptuous 5-star accommodation and facilities. Sleeping 14 guests, it makes the perfect choice for extended families and large groups looking for a memorable holiday in the mountains.
The chalet has a prominent setting 200m above the resort of Cervinia, and offers unobstructed views over the village, ski area and up to the Matterhorn. Access to the chalet is as equally enjoyable as the setting and is by the chalet’s chauffeur driven 4×4 on a private access road which brings you directly into the chalet. From here you have direct access to six floors and 1,200m2 of living space all accessible by both stairs and an elevator.
The main living spaces are at the heart of the chalet, with an entire floor split between the living rooms and private dining. The drawing room features large, deep sofas that face the two-sided wood burning fireplace that also warms the adjoining club room, where you can enjoy a cocktail from the drinks cabinet. The elegant dining room can easily accommodate 14 guests with the grand table sitting beneath a striking chandelier. Stepping outside, and you can sink into the 8 seat custom built hot tub with views of the Matterhorn.
The floor below is dedicated to relaxation and entertainment, with one side dedicated to the private spa facilities which include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, and experience shower with ice bucket. On the other side is the games room with pool table, table football, table tennis, and immersive Prosimu F1 racing and flight simulator. Glass doors lead you through to the gym, and there is also a dedicated massage room and finally a private cinema with three tiers of seating.
The chalet’s seven bedrooms are arranged across the top floors of the chalet. On level 4 are the two master suites, which both offer 44m2 of luxurious, private space along with large terraces and spacious dressing rooms. Up one floor and there are four junior suites, all with either double or twin beds, whilst on the top floor is the special Matterhorn suite with vaulted ceilings, large bath for 2 and a sofa bed for 2 small children if needed.
The chalet has a dedicated team of staff to look after your every requirement, and your chauffeur is on hand to whisk you the five minutes to the main ski lifts and ski slopes in the resort centre. Experienced skiers are able to traverse direct from La Fenice to the gentle No 5 home piste, but we think it is easier to let your chauffeur drive you the short distance to the slopes. After enjoying the extensive ski area, which links to Zermatt over in Switzerland, you can return to enjoy what is one of the finest luxury ski chalets in the Alps.
