Chalet Orso
Chalet Orso, finalist of the World Ski Awards 2020, is part of “Le Mouton à Bascule”, a complex of two prestigious chalets unique in Val d’Isere. The chalet is located in Le Fornet at the head of Val d’Isere and is one of the only places in resort to guarantee maximum sunshine all year round. The chalet perfectly blends authentic chalet style with grand interior spaces and first-class spa facilities.
The chalet is arranged over three floors all connected by stairs and elevator plus an additional mezzanine floor above the main living area. Sleeping 10-13 people there are 5 en-suite bedrooms arranged on the ground and first floors. The entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor and there is a garage with space for 2 cars along with a ski room with boot warmers and wine cave.
The open plan living and dining rooms are located at the top of the chalet to maximise the mountain views. With 7.5m high ceilings and immense picture windows as well as a large south and west facing terrace with Nordique bath, this chalet is elevating luxury to a new level in Val d’Isere. When it comes to in-chalet dining, the kitchen is independent, allowing your chef to cook in complete discretion, and the large dining table can seat up to 20 people.
Above the living room is a mezzanine floor that will provide plenty of entertainment with table football, pinball machine, jukebox, bar and TV lounge. The chalet’s private spa and fitness facilities wouldn’t look out of place in a 5-star hotel. The swimming pool with Jacuzzi at one end is 15m long and is surrounded by a beautiful concrete finish that creates the feeling of being in a cave or grotto.
Afterwards you can relax in the sauna or hammam and if feeling energised the well-equipped gym is awaiting your arrival, whilst outside there is also an additional barrel sauna.
The bedrooms have been furnished with natural tones, soft fabrics and fluffy carpets for a cocooning alpine ambiance. There are two master suites, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Two additional rooms with either double or twin beds give flexibility for different groups. The final bedroom works perfectly as a family suite or children’s room with 2 double beds and a single bunk, sleeping 5 in total.
The Le Fornet cable car and bottom of the ski slopes are only 150m from the chalet. The centre of Val d’Isere is a 3 minute chauffeured drive away and the driver service is available for 10 hours per day.
The chalet is rented on a fully staffed basis including chef, butler, housekeeper and chauffeur. The chef will prepare daily breakfast and afternoon tea, and evening dinner menu’s on 6 evenings tailored to your preferences. The cost of the food and drink is charged extra in resort.
The chalet is located next door to Chalet Orca and both chalets can be rented together to create Chalet Les Ours which sleeps up to 27 people. This would make an exceptional private destination for larger groups, several families or a special celebration.
