Chalet La Varappe
From the moment you walk into Chalet La Varappe you know that you are somewhere rather special. Originally built by Mr Pomagalski (founder of the world-leading “Poma” company), much of the chalet interior is clad in the wood cleared when building the lift system in Méribel. The chalet has until now been a private home and we are delighted to have added it to our portfolio of very exclusive chalets.
A stand-alone chalet with delightful terraces and garden offering a wonderful view of the mountains, the chalet sleeps 10 people in supreme comfort, in 5 lovely bedrooms, each with en-suite bath or shower room. Each room has an individual style and character; making them a delightful place to lay your head. There is an additional attic bedroom, which is suitable for 2 children.
At the heart of the chalet is the delightful sitting room, with its beautiful stone fireplace, wonderful artworks and antiques and decorated with quintessential English charm. Surrounded by such extravagance and refinement, you can’t help but feel like a treasured, personal guest. The chalet also offers a very private outdoor cedar wood hot tub, a steam room, TV / games room and of course, a large ski and boot room.
The food offered is a huge part of what sets a holiday at Chalet La Varappe apart. Dining at the chalet has always been a memorable experience, akin to eating in a top quality restaurant.
You’ll start your day with a beautifully presented breakfast of fruit juices, a freshly made “smoothie” or fruit / vegetable juice, fresh coffees, teas, yoghurts, cereals, porridge, a hot dish – like a “Eggs Royale” or a “full English breakfast”, jambon cru, cheeses, fresh fruit salad, fresh bread and freshly baked croissants and jams.
After your day on the slopes, homemade cakes and biscuits await you in the sitting room. Dinner is the pièce de résistance. Before your meal, canapés and champagne allow you to unwind in true style. You’re then treated to an exceptional four-course meal, rounded off with freshly ground coffee, a digestif and homemade truffles.
Chalet La Varappe is located in the centre of Méribel, just a stone’s throw from Chalet La Petite Pia and a short chauffeur-driven minibus ride from the lift centre of Méribel.

Chalet La Varappe is available on a catered chalet basis and is priced for up to 10 guests. There is an additional charge for further guests.
