Chalet Dahu is a beautiful and family friendly chalet in Nendaz, Switzerland. There are wonderful panoramic views to enjoy over the Swiss Alps and which are best enjoyed from the large terrace or balconies. Nendaz is a fantastic destination for both winter ski holiday’s or a summer retreat in the mountains with walking trails right on your doorstep.
The chalet is arranged over four floors and can accommodate up to 12 guests. The open plan kitchen, living and dining room is located on the middle floor and features double height ceilings. This is a lovely, convivial space where you can curl up on the sofa in front of the fireplace or step out onto a wide balcony. The kitchen is well-equipped with all you need for an independent self-catered holiday.
On the top floor there are two double/twin bedrooms, one with an en-suite bath and the other a shower. These two bedrooms share a toilet. On the lower floor there are a further two en-suite double/twin bedrooms, as well as a quad bunk room with a separate bathroom. The bunk room has 4 adults sized single beds, so can be used by adults as well as children.
For relaxation there is a sauna where you can ease tired bodies after your ski day. A fun feature also lets you exit directly from the sauna into the garden via a back door. A separate cinema room is great for movie nights in and works well as a second living room for any groups with children. Laundry facilities with a washing machine and tumble dryer are helpful for family groups.
During the ski season, if snow conditions allow, you can depart from the chalet by skiing along a snowy path and joining the Jean-Pierre ski slope after approximately 300 metres. From the chalet to the gondola lift station takes no more than 5 minutes for an average skier. It is possible to ski back to the chalet, but it is not along a pisted ski slope and at one point you have to cross a cleared path. So better to take off your skis and put them on again on the other side.
To walk into the resort centre, it is 20 minutes along a small downhill road. There is a shorter route along a hiking path, which may be icy during the winter months, and which only take 15 minutes. The walk back to the chalet is uphill and will therefore take a little longer.
In the winter ski season, if you arrive by car then a 4×4 or snow chains are mandatory to reach the Les Clèves parking. The chalet has 2 parking spaces at the Les Clèves parking.
Access to the chalet from the les Clèves parking area is normally by Polaris or on foot, which is approximately a 7 minute walk. The rental includes 3 transport trips per group arrival/departure at one time, to/from the chalet and to/from the car park.
